## A few useful answers.

Which UK VAT rates are included?

The standard rate is 20%, the reduced rate is 5% and the zero rate is 0%, as checked on 6 October 2026. Eligibility depends on the goods or services. Exemption is different from zero rating.

How do I remove VAT from a total?

Choose Gross, including VAT. The calculator estimates the VAT included in that amount, then subtracts it to show net. At 20%, the VAT portion is one sixth of the gross amount.

Can this tell me what VAT I can reclaim?

No. This is an arithmetic estimate. The receipt, your circumstances and the applicable rules matter. Check with your accountant.
